**Advert Text**:
We are looking for a Young Inspector (Scrutiny) to support the Merton Safeguarding Children Partnership (MSCP) with championing youth voice and ensuring children and young people in Merton are receiving the best possible standards of participation and engagement in organisations that work with them. The MSCP helps agree how local child protection services are carried out and monitors how well local arrangements are safeguarding children. We are looking for someone who can help children and young people to influence this work in a variety of ways.

The role will involve working with colleagues within the Merton Safeguarding Children Partnership, the Participation and Engagement Manager and the Policy and Partnerships Manager. You will also work with other teams across Merton to ensure youth voice is embedded within the Partnership.

Your role may involve evening and weekend work, as we ensure the best ways to engage directly from young people. In addition, the role will involve engaging with local young people to ensure that they have the opportunities and support to shape and influence all aspects of service delivery. Therefore, an enhanced DBS will be required for this role.

We are committed to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds and perspectives within our community. This role is exempt from equality law on the basis of age and is open to young people aged 17-24 years old, who currently live, study or socialise in Merton or have done so in the past.

We envision interviews to be held on Tuesday 4th July, in-person at Merton's Civic Centre.
