**About the Role**

Lancashire Education Improvement Service would like to appoint a Key Schools Technical Officer to join an established team of enthusiastic colleagues. The role will include collecting, analysing and reporting on attainment information of Lancashire's schools and pupils, developing bespoke data reports for schools, setting up and processing new and existing datasets, ensuring accuracy of datasets and supporting schools in understanding the data reports. It also involves supporting schools in the use of online systems developed by the team. This post requires excellent ICT skills, interpersonal skills, project management and organisation skills.

**Important Note**:
Although this post is based at County Hall, Preston, working arrangements are currently a blend of office and home working.

**Key Accountabilities**

To make a major contribution to the analysis of statistical information in relation to the current and future performance of Lancashire’s pupils/schools, and to its presentation, distribution and dissemination.

Work within the Key Schools Project Team to ensure that statutory responsibilities in respect of the collection, transfer and reporting of information are met.

To work with other teams in the recording, storage and access to data used by Education Improvement Service.

To contribute to the analysis and transfer of statistical information in relation to the performance of pupils between primary and secondary schools.

To work under the direction of the KSP Manager to implement and maintain efficient and effective systems for the analysis, presentation and distribution of data collected by Education Improvement Service.

To implement the structures and processes which ensure that information is provided in an accurate, pro-active, efficient, appropriate and timely manner.

**Skills and Experience**

Substantial experience of working in the field of data collection and analysis, preferably in an educational environment.

Collecting, storing, analysing and reporting large volumes of data.

Experience of managing projects from conception to successful delivery.

Ability to model, manipulate and visualise complex data in Power BI.

Substantial experience of creating databases including writing complex queries and working with multiple tables.

Advanced/high level skills in MS Office (in particular Access and Excel) including experience of using SQL.

Ability to manipulate raw data.

Ability to set up processes for the collection and analysis of data.

A good understanding of how statistical techniques can be applied to the analysis of data.

The ability to collect, store, analyse, interpret and report on large volumes of complex data.

The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

The ability to work as part of a team.

The ability to work systematically, accurately and with attention to detail.

An understanding of the collection, analysis and reporting of school performance data.

**Other**

A Level in mathematics, statistics or IT or equivalent.
HNC, degree or equivalent qualification in an appropriate discipline.
Project Management Qualification.
