**Job overview**:
The opportunity has arisen for a full-time Locum Consultant Physician, with a view to a substantive post being available (business case going trough approvals process). They will have a responsibility in neurological neurorehabilitation and general rehabilitation with an input into major trauma rehabilitation, msk rehabilitation and neuro-rehabilitation at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.

This is and exciting opportunity to both be part of the National Rehabilitation Centre Vision and to develop post critical care and other rehabilitation pathways.

**Main duties of the job**:
This is a locum post for 6 months.

**Detailed job description and main responsibilities**:
The post holder will provide provide ward round for the major trauma unit at the Queen's Medical Centre Campus and the rehabilitation unit at the Linden Lodge Unit at Nottingham City Hospital Campus. The post holder will also attend attend the acute neuroscience wards to review referrals.

In addition the post holder will provide amputee, rehabilitation and spasticity management clinics at City Hospital campus.

**Qualifications**:
**Essential criteria**:

- Full GMC Registration
- Eligible to be included on the specialist register (or CCT expected within 6 months)
- CESR

**Desirable criteria**:

- Further higher training or qualification MD or PhD

**Professional Qualification**:
**Essential criteria**:

- MRCS (UK) or equivalent CCT/CESR or European Right to Work

**Desirable criteria**:

- Higher Professional Degree SCE

**Experience**:
**Essential criteria**:

- Evidenced clinical skills as described in the job description
- Able to communicate effectively and appropriately with patients, their families and other health professionals

**Desirable criteria**:

- Specific Training in Communication Skills
- Specific training in patient safety and/or human factors
- Development of subspecialty interest to complement the Dept

**Managment Skills**:
**Essential criteria**:

- Ability to develop, present an operationalise coherent ideas for service development/delivery
- Able to delegate appropriately

**Salary**: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
