Purpose

Global Partnerships support National Geographic Learning’s regional teams in securing Ministry business and developing our public sector footprint globally. NGL has successfully secured contracts with key Middle East Ministries of Education to co-develop materials in Career Technical Education. The Managing Editor will lead key aspects of the Ministry projects, liaising with the core publishing teams in the UK and US. The role requires strong stakeholder communication skills in English—and, ideally, Arabic as well—to ensure products meet the requirements of the market, on time and within budget.

Key Accountabilities
- Engage with NGL and partner editorial and production teams, ensuring information from Ministry partners and in-house teams is communicated appropriately and efficiently to colleagues and writers.
- Work closely with the editorial and writing teams to ensure materials meet pedagogical requirements of the curriculum and drive NGL brand and design principles.
- Work closely with the Editorial Program Manager at project initiation stage to ensure costs and staff resources are budgeted and allocated appropriately.
- Work with NGL’s IP, Media Research and Operations teams to ensure rights for new and adapted learning objects are secured and asset trackers are regularly updated.
- Create or support with workflow schedules as required, ensuring that the writing, development, and production stages allow for timely delivery to printers/schools.
- Attend Ministry meetings, conferences, and teacher training sessions as required, offering support in developing materials for promotion and sales events.
- Engage in problem-solving throughout the entire product development lifecycle.

- Deep knowledge of editorial, design, and production processes
