Principal Role of the **Commercial Business Lead / Commercial Finance Manager**:
Managing the day to day running of the finance function in one of the group brands and the timely production of management information. Being the critical link between finance and all members of staff across the agency. This is a diverse role, that includesmanagement accounts, Revenue recognition, reporting, forecasting, payroll, and team management. The role will be part of the overall Europe Finance team.

**Experience**:

- ACCA/CIMA /CPA qualified accountant with at least 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Ideally used Deltek Maconomy
- Ideally you will have worked within a communications agency previously
- Understand key finance processes and functions, including preparing budgets, cash flow, time based revenue recognition, management accounts, creditors, and debtors
- You must have experience of managing the Month end Close
- Have a project accounting background
- Knowledgeable in revenue recognition methods

Key responsibilities:

- Ownership of revenue process including, but not limited to, preparing monthly projections to the Group.
- Production of full management accounts with analysis for review with the MD & FD including a detailed review of all transactions, P&L and Balance Sheet reconciliations.
- Preparing monthly reports for MD, including Utilisation, freelancer spend, fee forecasts and fee analysis
- Ownership of all Balance sheet reconciliation for the company, inc prepayments & accruals
- Overseeing/checking all payroll accounting including review of the payment runs and payroll reports
- Producing the annual budget and monthly forecasts, highlighting areas of concern and making recommendations to achieve key business objectives
- Running the P&L budgeting and re-forecast process, working with Senior Managers monthly to ensure forecasts are accurate and that business plans are commercially sound, including ensuring the billing summary process is complete
- Managing and developing the UK finance team of 7 (1 direct report)
- Assisting in the approval of payment runs
- Conducting monthly finance presentations to Executive Committee
- Preparing and delivering finance training decks to be used for all UK entities.
- Ensuring all financial reporting and audit requirements achieved for bi-annual statutory reporting deadlines and liaison with external auditors
- Other statutory reporting including completion of: VAT Returns every 3 months, Corporation Tax every 3 months, yearly PAYE Settlement Agreements & P11Ds, monthly pensions & PAYE
- Maintaining a strong financial control environment, ensuring processes are enforced and enhanced
- Proactively identifying and implementing improvements to finance processes and procedures
- Managing the internal system Deltek Maconomy - setting up new clients, employees, approving new vendors for your agency
- Managing financial year-end processes ensuring all ledgers are accurate and costs reported correctly
- Other ad-hoc requests from client services teams and MD

Skills Required:

- Effectively be able to drive the finance function and identify efficiencies where needed
- Be well organised with experience working in the Finance function of a fast-paced agency/consultancy environment
- Strong MS Excel skills
- Understanding of how best to manage and develop individuals within a finance team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Confident in communicating with different levels of stakeholders including those from a non-financial background
- Thrive in taking lead and proactively problem-solving
