**RESPONSIBLE TO**: Clinical Lead

We are looking for a qualified nurse to teach and assess our Level 3 HCAs and Level 5 Assistant Practitioner Apprenticeship learners. All learners are employed in Cornwall at GP practices and health and social care services, and we deliver the training and assess their competence.

To deliver Clinical skills, training and assessment with learners undertaking Clinical Health Apprenticeships (healthcare support, senior healthcare support and Assistant Practitioner). You will be working with a variety of employers from different clinical environments, to enable learners to successfully achieve their qualification.

**SPECIFIC DUTIES**:

- To recruit appropriate learners for Employer Responsive Training e.g. Apprenticeships in the workplace.
- To follow recruitment procedures for learners and ensure that initial assessment is carried out.
- To attend relevant employer and sector groups to raise the profile of the provision.
- To manage a group of Apprenticeship learners within a range of clinical settings.
- To monitor learners Health and Safety and wellbeing in the workplace.
- To ensure the Training Plan is completed, updated and maintained for all learners in liaison with curriculum staff and employers.
- To meet Ofsted requirements and provide high quality education and training.
- To complete Education Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) documentation for learners and employers on start of training.
- To adhere to entry criteria and recruitment procedures for learners and ensure that the results of the learner’s initial assessment informs individual learner target setting and is agreed with the employer.
- To ensure that accurate and effective IAG is provided at all stages of learner support and delivery.
- To undertake Continuous Professional Development (CPD) 30 hours occupational competence and knowledge update annually.
- To complete mandatory training updates as required by DHCT and any other training required by DHCT to undertake your role effectively.
- Ensure timely completion of qualifications, develop portfolios and support the embedding of Functional Skills.
- To act as advocate in resolving problems between learners, employers and as appropriate.
- To carry out reviews of learner’s progress and achievement within an agreed timescale which are regularly shared with the relevant employer.
- Through the review process, set and monitor training targets that effectively link on and off the job training.
- To develop training materials which will enable the learner to generate evidence against qualifications requirements.
- To carry out assessments of learners in the workplace in accordance with Awarding organisation requirements.
- To ensure the quality of the assessment process by working with Internal Quality Assurers and attending regular standardisation meetings.
- To keep accurate records of learner progress and achievement, which are regularly shared with the relevant employer.
- To keep accurate records of learner attendance which are regularly shared with the relevant employer.
- To attend internal team and other meetings as required.
- To participate in the course review and evaluation process.

**CONDITIONS OF SERVICE**:

Contract Type: PT hours available minimum 24 hours per week, with FT available if needed.

**ESSENTIAL**

Occupationally competent within Clinical health services and recognised qualifications in your specialism

**Assessor**s - TAQA qualified or equivalent (or prepared to train to become an assessor)

Registered within your occupational specialism eg nursing.

Minimum qualification is Clinical Health Level 5 and experienced Clinical Health Care Assistant with over 2 years practicing in a clinical setting.
- Up to date knowledge within your occupational specialism
- Update knowledge of the Apprenticeship Standards and End Point Assessment.
- Good ICT skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including active listening skills; able to communicate with a diverse range of people and organisations; able to build strong working relationships with other organisations.
