Music Licensing Associate

“Sky’s Music Department provides an outstanding service across the Sky Group and its Joint Venture partners in relation to all music matters. The Licensing team is seeking to expand by hiring a Music Licensing Associate to help accommodate increased business demand, largely by way of providing key administrative support to the wider Licensing team.” - Head of Music Licensing

What you'll do:

- Soundmouse (Sky’s in-house digital library, clearance and reporting software): you’ll set up new users, provide support to producers and promo creatives and be trained to a level to deal proficiently with a variety of clearance enquiries.
- Programming content: you’ll support the team’s music supervision and licensing activity across Sky Originals (Dramas, Comedies and Documentaries). Specific tasks to include: sending introductory comms to indies, keeping track of in/out status of licences and invoices, ensuring production trackers are kept up-to-date and general admin support as required;
- Music licensing: you’ll get involved on an ad-hoc basis by sending sync requests to external music rights-owners for a variety of projects;
- Key administrative support: you’ll process invoices via Ariba/SAP, deal with payment enquiries from external suppliers, ensure document storage complies with company GDPR policy and assist with gathering essential info from colleagues to enable Sky Music’s entries to industry awards;
- Deputise/step up to cover for Licensing Execs during periods of leave

What you'll bring:

- Highly-organised team player and confident self-starter with the ability to embrace new/in-house systems and ways of working;
- Client-facing person with a ‘can-do’ attitude, who possesses an ability to help colleagues find creative solutions;
- Proficient user of MS Office/MS Teams (re: Powerpoint - the ability to make good presentations look brilliant);
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
- An understanding of broadcaster blanket licences;
- A working knowledge of Collecting Society repertoire databases e.g. PRS for Music Works database, PPL Repertoire database, BMI Songview/ASCAP Repertory

- Sky’s original programming arm across Europe - and provides a wide range of resource and support different business areas across the Sky Group.
