We're representing a high-growth, Private Equity backed Financial Services group who are looking for a Financial Controller to oversee two of their key entities within the group.
As Financial Controller you will manage a team of four and oversee all matters related to Financial Control, Financial Reporting, and Tax for your entities. Due to the acquisitive nature of the group you may also be involved in some M&A related activities.
You would have the option to work out of the Wilmslow, Manchester or Blackburn offices, and would also have a hybrid work model with the freedom to Work from Home a number of days per week.
Key Tasks and Key Responsibilities
- Line management of a team of 4
- Preparation of divisional reporting and management accounts
- Oversight of accuracy and effectiveness of financial operations processes and controls including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash and bank
- Development of financial operations team and control environment, ensuring consistent processes and controls in place across all Group entities
- Ensure accuracy of ledgers and adherence to Group Accounting policies and control framework
- Preparation of statutory accounts
- Engagement with Group auditors to ensure provision of requested information on a timely basis
- Ensure appropriate documentation of financial processes and controls
- Preparation of ad hoc financial analysis
- Oversee the preparation of budgeting and forecasting processes
- Liaison with external tax advisors for preparation of corporation tax returns
- Preparation of VAT returns
- Onboarding and integrating acquisitions into the Group structure
Key Requirements
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- Strong business partner with the ability to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Previous team management experience
- An analytical approach to problem solving
- Financial Services experience would be beneficial, although not a prerequisite
