Our client based in Witham is looking for a **Trainee Import Clerk** to join their European Road Freight team on a permanent basis. This role would suit someone who is looking to start a career within the Logistics industry. We are looking for someone who has experience working in an office administration role and has GCSE's at grade 5 or above in Maths and English (or the equivalent).
**Duties for the Trainee Import Clerk:

- Assisting the Department Manager in the smooth running of the department
- Entering jobs and manifests onto the in-house system
- Supplying the warehouse and all other depots with information required to enable the prompt and efficient off-loading of trailers.
- Liaising with agents and customers alike to ascertain their needs and requirements in order to ensure all deliveries are completed in a timely fashion.
- Daily collating of required information from Hauliers of arrival and departure times.
- Daily calculation of prices and costs for certain manifests.
- Daily up-dating of spreadsheets with relevant information.
- Assist the manager with the consolidation / presentation of data for monthly KPI reporting
- Assist when required with the pricing and invoicing of manifests and filing
- Getting involved with the training of new staff members

- Essential - 1 year office admin experience
- Essential - Minimum GSCE Grade 5 or above in both Maths & English (or equivalent)
- Excellent telephone manner, customer service skills and experience of dealing with customers
Our client is offering a competitive salary, full training and development, on-site car parking, Pension and 20 days holiday. The working hours for this role are 9:00am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday.
