**The Service**

The Supporting Your Futures Team works with young people seeking asylum and care experienced young people aged 18-25, supporting and walking alongside as they develop their skills for independence. The team are positive, friendly, fun, and most importantly aspirational for young people's futures.

**What is the Role?**

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Adolescents and Young Adults Service, Supporting Your Futures Team to work with our Care Experienced Young Adults. You will be joining our inspiring and passionate team and will be part of our journey in achieving an outstanding service. This is a really exciting time for Portsmouth as we develop our response to Missing, Exploited and Trafficked Young Adults with the development of Transitional Safeguarding. If you are passionate about care experienced young adults' futures and are looking to develop your leadership skills that you know will make a difference in supporting our amazing Personal Advisors then this could be the role for you.

As Team Leader you will be responsible for leading and supporting a dedicated pod of Personal Advisors. This includes staff development and learning through mentoring, and reflective supervision. Alongside managing performance, data, and absence, you will also encourage your pod to be creative and solution focused in responding to individual needs. We believe strongly in involving young people in all aspects of their plans and the services we provide.

You will act as duty manager on a rota and be responsible for chairing meetings, writing and supporting assessments of risk and support needs and attending groups to represent the service. You will have the opportunity to develop your own ideas and projects that will benefit young people or improve the service we offer.

**What you'll need to succeed**

Be passionate about working with young people, you will be an excellent communicator and have a nationally recognised qualification (equivalent to degree level) in the Health, Youth, Community, Social Care or Education field.

Through the use of reflective supervision, you will be able to support staff to grow and learn whilst coping with competing demands, and the stresses that comes with working in a busy environment.

You will be passionate about working with young people and motivated to achieve good outcomes for children and young people. You will be able to liaise professionally with a range of key stakeholders including children, families, colleagues, other professionals and senior managers. You are curious, creative and solution focused, able to problem solve when dealing with a variety of challenges and demonstrate confidence in working within agreed timescales,
