Our friendly and progressive pharmacy department are currently looking for a motivated IM&T Pharmacy Assistant to join our Medicines Management Team at Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust.

This is an exciting role, where you can work as part of the pharmacy team at Whitchurch community hospital, helping us to achieve great patient centered care. One of your roles is to ensure we can effectively share data with our partners, so the patient journey is safe with respect to their medicines. You will play a fundamental part in supporting our pharmacy technicians as part of our “discharge medicines service” (DMS). Although we expect you to be fully cognizant in using computer software, full training will be provided to ensure you can effectively use the DMS system.

In addition, whilst working within the hospitals, you will also support the pharmacy technician with ordering of medicines, undertaking medicines audits and help with other pharmacy related duties.

You will need to be organised and highly motivated. Great communication and interpersonal skills are essential as there will be regular communication with other healthcare professionals across different organisations. This post is stimulating and exciting, whilst giving you responsibility, it also acts as a pre-cursor for those wishing to pursue a career in pharmacy and really make a difference to patient care.

Whilst we are expecting to appoint to this role as a 3-day position, we are open to flexible hours to allow you an improved work-life balance, such as working four shorter days.

Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust provides community-based health services for adults and children in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, and some services in surrounding areas too. These range from district nursing, health visiting and running four community hospitals through to providing very specialist community care through talented and dedicated staff.
