**Job Title**: Van Delivery Driver / Warehouse Operative

**Contract Status**: Permanent

**Days/Hours of Work**: Part-time role, Monday - Friday.

20 hours approx.

Working hours to be discussed at interview.

Hours could be arranged to suit school hours for a working parent, however a degree of flexibility at times will be necessary.

Would be suitable for someone looking to semi-retire or looking to get back into work.

**Location**: Beeston, Nottingham

**Purpose of the Role**:
We’re seeking a responsible and committed delivery driver with a good sense of humour and excellent communication skills to join our team. Your job will be to ensure the efficient, professional and accurate delivery of products to the customer whilst maintaining and developing long-term productive customer relations. Deliveries are predominantly local in the East Midlands area, however may also include other parts of the UK from time-to-time. This role also includes some warehouse duties, such as rotating stock, putting new stock away, keeping a tidy and orderly warehouse as well as other ad-hoc duties.

**The Role**:

- To deliver goods ordered by customers as outlined in delivery notes, ensuring a signature, date and time is obtained upon delivery.
- You will be responsible for picking and loading goods to be delivered onto the Company vehicle in an organised manner.
- You must promote a positive image of the Company with staff, suppliers and customers at all times.
- Adhere to Health and Safety regulations and comply with Company standards, policies and codes of practice.
- You will be responsible for cleaning the company vehicle and ensuring it is well maintained and roadworthy. This includes, but is not limited to, checking the brakes, lights, oil etc.
- Completing all necessary and appropriate paperwork.
- Ensure compliance to safe, legal driving requirements, for example: speed limits, traffic signals etc.
- To maintain and develop good customer relations by being helpful and considerate at all times, reporting back any problems that may arise from goods or services supplied by the Company.
- Assembling, delivering and installing furniture as required.
- You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly warehouse as well as putting stock deliveries away, rotating old/new stock, accepting incoming orders and other warehouse duties.
- To be involved in other duties as may be defined from time-to-time.

**Criteria for Applicants**

**Essential Criteria**:

- Experience in a similar role.
- You will have daily contact with our customers. A customer-focused attitude, smart appearance and excellent communication skills are vital for this role.
- Hold a full UK Driving Licence for a minimum of 3 years with no endorsements.
- You will need to be physically fit, as heavy lifting and carrying are involved. (Please see note on “Manual Handling” below).
- Basic health and safety awareness.

**Desirable Criteria**:

- Good working knowledge of the local area.
- Basic furniture assembly skills. (On the job training will be provided).
- A certain degree of flexibility with your working hours.

**PLEASE NOTE: MANUAL HANDLING**

It should be noted that manual handling tasks such as lifting, carrying and bending are “essential requirements” of this role.
