Dorking Healthcare (DHC)**
DHC is a GP Federation, representing over105,000 patients providing a wide range of quality healthcare services including elective care, talking therapies, community healthcare and primary care across Surrey. We are registered with the CQC (Care Quality Commission) and we are an accredited AQP (Any Qualified Provider).
As a dynamic and friendly organisation, we want our staff to enjoy working with us and fulfil their potential. In a recent survey, 73% of staff who responded told us they would recommend DHC as an employer and 80% feel enthusiastic about their jobs.
Our organisation
DHC is working at the centre of the local NHS health system to evolve and deliver integrated care and that requires strong partnerships with many organisations. In all of our services, we aim to put the patient at the centre of their care, make sure our services are easy to access by local patients and reduce waiting times for patients.
A “can-do” attitude is a vital asset at DHC and we are looking for like-minded individuals to work with us who share the same approach and work ethic.
GP practices have been brought together into Primary Care Networks (or PCNs) to offer services in the local community. There are three Primary Care Networks (PCN's): Dorking, Redhill Phoenix and South Tandridge. The PCN’s are critical to the changing NHS and are the focal point of all locally developed planning and service delivery. Dorking PCN is a long established highly regarded group of four practices which are high achieving; consistently obtaining top QOF points and amongst the best rated practices in the CCG in the National Patient Survey.
Paramedic Practitioner
We are recruiting for a Paramedic Practitioner within Dorking PCN to work with the four practices. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a learning environment helping to develop your role, without an out of hours requirement (although twilight shifts are included). You would be a member of an integrated system combining triage and acute intervention sessions in primary care, but also with the opportunity to engage in the more complex home visits as part of the community medical team.
Although full time is preferable, part time working will be considered, noting that 2 days per week is the minimum requirement for the role to be performed successfully.
The successful applicant will work alongside friendly, supportive multi-disciplinary teams consisting of Doctors, Nurses, HCA’s ANP, Clinical Pharmacists and MSK practitioners. We have a well-established multi-disciplinary community medical team based at Dorking Community Hospital with close links to the practices and also have established Paramedic training programmes in two of the Dorking practices. We provide mentoring, hands on training and support to use technologies including digital triage, telephone triage and video consultation using SystemOne, Docman 10 with workflow optimisation and AccuRx.
The person
We are seeking a knowledgeable, ambitious and skilled professional with dedication and a good customer service ethos, who will act as an excellent role model to other members of the team. The successful applicant must be registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) and hold a relevant degree e.g. BSc in Paramedic Science. A post graduate diploma in Paramedic Practice would be desirable. In addition, you should possess excellent clinical skills evidenced through continuing professional development and a minimum of 5 years’ post registration qualification as a paramedic or equivalent relevant experience in front line ambulance or acute or chronic care. An Independent Prescriber qualification would also be desirable.
Travel between the different GP Practices within the PCN and home visits will be necessary, so a car driver would be ideal.
**Benefits**:
In return DHC offers staff the following benefits:
- Competitive salaries; based on the applicable NHS Agenda for Change bands 7/8a (according to experience and qualifications, pro-rata if part-time)
- We provide opportunities for training and career development.
- Membership of the NHS pension scheme
**If you would like to work part time, please confirm how many hours/days you would prefer to work.
