We are looking for someone to join our fast-paced, friendly and dynamic Patient Service Team. This is a demanding role, so you will need to be confident, highly organised and good at multi-tasking. Our Patient Services Administrators are the first point of contact either on the telephone or face to face and they assist our patients in receiving the right care from the most appropriate clinician. The role of Patient Services Administrator is varied in nature and priorities can change from day to day. Therefore, the job holder must be flexible and willing to take on new tasks and responsibilities.

Part time hours to include 8.00am start to 6.00pm finishes Monday to Friday.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Receive patients and visitors on our front desk reception
- Responding efficiently and courteously to patients, assisting with their queries and requests
- Liaise with hospital and other NHS organisations as required
- Booking patient appointments, telephone consultations, ensuring callers are signposted appropriately
- Maintain effective communication within the practice and with patients and visitors

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**

**Essential**
- Good standard of English literacy and numeracy (GCSE or equivalent)
- Experience of working in a customer service environment
- Ability to remain calm under pressure in a busy GP practice
- Confident IT user and ability to understand new computer systems
- Experience of working as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills
- Flexibility to cover variety of work patterns

**Desirable**
- Previous experience of working within a NHS organisation
- Problem solving and a proactive team ethos
- Ability to use a measure of independent judgement
- Willing and able to use own initiative as required

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 11 months
Part-time hours: 25 per week

**Salary**: £10.42-£10.73 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:
We follow NHS guidance for infection and control procedures. When recommended to do so, all patients and staff wear a face mask whilst on the premises. Staff are required to test for Covid twice weekly using lateral flow tests.
