This role requires working in a 1-2-1 setting supporting young people aged 8-18 in all areas of Bristol. The role may also consist of working in school and running group workshops. Mentors will provide a safe environment for young people through offering conversational support and delivering practical activities. The role is flexible hours which can be operated through the day time, evenings and sometime weekend work.

Key duties in this role are:

- Building and maintaining positive relationship
- Having excelling communication skills
- Being a role model to young people
- Managing social and emotional behaviour
- Build confidence and self esteem
- Tackle social isolation
- Provide Informal leaning opportunities
- Offer advice and guidance
- Support mental health and wellbeing
- Explore young people’s hobbies and interests
- Encourage young people to access activities in their local communities
- Create community empowerment
- Give young people a voice
- Be reliable and non-complacent

Inspire Mentoring are looking for someone with 2-3 years experience working with young people. You must have a type of qualification or training in working with young people. There will be opportunities to do courses and training whilst working as a mentor.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract, Freelance, Zero hours contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: £12.00-£18.00 per hour
