**About the Opportunity**

As previously mentioned, this is an opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join one of the largest and most respected Civil Engineering contractors in the UK. This opportunity has come about due to ongoing growth & a large pipeline of projects beingwon. You will be initially joining their environmental team, working on projects that involve leasing with the canal & river trust, the environmental agency as well as coal authority. The purpose of the contract is to maintain 200-year-old assets such as refurbishingcoal mines and flood risk management schemes. The project value will range but it will be around £2M - £5M per scheme. There is long-term opportunities to move into the companies major projects team which will involve huge infrastructure schemes on HS2 oreven Highways England.

Some of your duties will involve managing a small commercial team involving Quantity Surveyors, Assistants, Juniors & graduates, you will need to supervise, mentor, and encourage all junior staff in their personal professional development. On top of this,you will co-operate with, report to, and implement the reasonable directives of the Regional Director/Manager and the Commercial Manager (functional reporting). You will also liaise with contracts management in the day-to-day commercial administration of contractsto ensure the financial success of construction operations and to keep the Commercial Manager appraised of all material events.

**Requirements**:
It is essential you have experience working for a Tier One Main Contractor based in the UK, a contractor that specialises in Civil Engineering and infrastructure. I am also looking for someone who has at least 8 years experience working as a Quantity Surveyor& someone who has good stability on their CV. You will be working on NEC forms of contracts so in-depth knowledge of this is vital. On top of this, a good standard of education is also essential, I am looking for someone who had a Quantity Surveying & CommercialManager related degree.
