Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary Heating Engineer to work in Blyth, Northumberland. This position is initially for a period of 12 months and is paying £17.58 - £20.62 per hour (PAYE and umbrella payment options are available).

**The role**:
To undertake installation of gas appliances and full central heating systems in the Council's housing stock to a high quality in accordance with any predetermined specification, time-scale or appointment.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Undertake gas installations to the highest standard in accordance with work requests and predetermined specifications. This will include:

- the removal of existing fittings, installation of new fittings and fixtures and testing for a variety of fittingsand fixtures, such as condensing boilers, combi boilers, back boilers, gas fires, electronic heating and hot water controls, radiators and flues.
- To be responsible for the system design which includes taking decisions on equipment location, undertaking heat loss calculations, sizing of paperwork, heat emitters and boiler, plus domestic hot water (including unvented systems) and waste condensate.
- To be responsible for the Customer Interface process during the installation period which includes liaison with the customer on access and when to do specific tasks in various rooms for the period of time in the customer's property.
- To be responsible for all commissioning work for each individual installation which includes balancing the new system, establishing the heat Curve setting for the new system, system water sampling and sending to the manufacturers for certification and warranty.
- To complete a Landlord Gas Safety Certificate upon the completion installation.
- To bring to the attention of the team leader any problems that have been identified with regard to the supply of gas, including gas pressure, tampering with the gas supply and meter installation in order that the matter can be brought to the attention ofTRANSCO. Provide written reports on any findings and provide a statement where requested to TRANSCO or the police.
- To have a sound working knowledge of all elements of building construction, components, building trades and applicable building regulations.
- To be competent and trained in the latest ACS regulations and be registered with Gas Safe and comply with all legislative and codes of practice in respect of gas servicing, installation and safety. The post-holder must undertake regular update trainingand achieve competence levels in order to retain certification.

**Applicant Requirements**:

- **Qualifications**:City & Guilds Levels 2 & 3 or equivalent qualification.
- **Experience**:Extensive experience of all aspects of installing gas heating systems.
- **Compliance**:2 years written references and proof of right to work in the UK.
- **Travel**:Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
- **Hours**:37.5 hours p/w.
