An exciting opportunity has arisen in Ophthalmology Department

We are looking for a highly motivated Team Leader for our friendly administration teams at Southend University Hospital and Orsett hospital. The post holder will take responsibility for providing effective and efficient administration support to the Unit and provide day to day management of the admin team within the Ophthalmology Department.

The post holder will be expected to work together with admin teams across 3 sites (Southend, Orsett and Broomfield). The working week will be split between Southend and Orsett and on occasion you might be required to travel between other sites.

The post holder will provide day to day team leader support to the admin and clinical teams. This includes but is not limited to: HR support, prioritising and delegating admin workload, liaising with Ophthalmology JSMs and SDM to provide effective and efficient running of admin and clinical activities across 3 sites.

The Southend team consists of reception staff as well as an outpatient administration team and the Orsett team consist of 5 experienced admin support members. The team offers support to all clinical Ophthalmology activities at both hospital sites.

The team works together with their colleagues at Broomfield to provide Ophthalmology care to 1.2 million people in mid and south Essex area.

- To co-ordinate changes to the Ophthalmology clinic and theatre templates as agreed with the Services Manager.
- To act as link person for the call centre partial booking telephone appointment line.
- To provide data through visual management tools for PTL and the partial booking system on a daily basis.
