General Farm Worker

Overview

This is a position on a forward-thinking family run farm of over 200 Ha. Consisting of livestock and arable operations, with additional contracting services.

Stock: 150 head breeding ewe commercial and pedigree enterprise.

Cropping: Grass, Winter Barley, Winter Wheat, Oilseed Rape, and Vining Peas.

Generic Role

Day to day care of livestock to include seasonal duties for example shearing - handling and lambing duties when required.

Soil sampling is also required on behalf of SOYL again requiring travel across the Yorkshire region.

Attendance at training / update days will be required as part of the role.

The role will involve some unsociable working hours to include nights, evenings, weekends and bank holidays and will require you to be able to work alone or as part of a small team.

You will be required to work to a consistently high standard at all times and work on your own initiative as well as following instructions.

You must be able to prioritise tasks and pay close attention to detail.

Working in a tidy and thoughtful manner.

You should be able to communicate clearly and politely with our customers and maintain confidentiality where required.

Experience is essential in at least some of the areas outlined above, any qualifications gained must be backed up by providing the original certificates at interview along with proof of a full clean UK driving license.

Essential Criteria

Full UK Driving License which must include the following categories B, B1, BE, f.

Should you not meet all of the above essential and desirable criteria then training could be provided as part of the remuneration package. This can be discussed at interview.
