Overview:
To support the operational delivery of high quality, impartial IAG in communities across the Borough through the delivery of appropriate community based information advice and guidance activities and interventions. Provide support across 3 key phases in preparing adults and young people for work, getting them into work and helping them get on in work

**Duties**:

- Identify and assess the holistic needs, and any barriers of adults and young people and record the results using contract compliant and quality assured mechanisms to provide a baseline from which progress and achievement can be measured
- Be flexible and adaptable to adults and young peoples needs, meeting with them in their community, in their homes and places they feel comfortable in.
- Prepare clear and concise person-centred SMART Action Plans, reviewing on a regular basis, ensuring both qualitative and quantitative data can be extracted, in one to one sessions and in group sessions both on site and in outreach locations as appropriate
- Plan and deliver relevant, high-quality activities and interventions to individuals and groups to support progression
- Facilitate effective and efficient job search activities relevant to the skills and abilities of the individual and their proximity to the labour market
- Support, motivate, facilitate and direct individuals experiencing barriers to employment to engage in relevant activities and interventions which support their progression to education, employment and training
- Track the progress of adults and young people, provide in-work support or undertake other required activities to ensure successful education, employment or training outcomes
- Maintain up to date information on a complex range of issues both in the local community and across the Borough covering numerous agendas, signposting and making appropriate referrals to other departments and organisations as required.
- Demonstrate up to date knowledge of the local labour market to inform planning of or referral to relevant interventions or activities which ensure adult / young persons progress towards,into and sustained employment
- Maintain accurate records and report performance as required
- Use IT packages as directed to record information and produce reports
- Participate and contribute to meetings, development activities or quality assurance interventions in the local area and Borough wide as required.
- Liaise and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including employers,providers and adults and young people ensuring links are maintained within the community
- Communicate effectively with the public using a suitable level of fluency in spoken English in line with the English language requirement for public sector workers Level 2 (in addition to Level 1)
- Provides specialist support to adults and young people to ensure they are equipped with the skills, resources and knowledge to help them progress.
- Have and extensive, up to date knowledge on a complex range of issues covering numerous agendas, signposting and making appropriate referrals to other departments and organisations as required, including welfare benefits
- Design, plan and deliver relevant, high-quality activities and interventions across communities to individuals and groups
- Provide specialist in depth information advice and guidance across our 3 phases to individuals on the programme taking account of statutory requirements where relevant Education and Training

**Skills**:

- Level 1
- Some experience of engaging adults and young people who have experienced barriers and challenges A/I E
- Experience of working with adults and young people and supporting them to develop their resilience and motivation A/I E
- Experience of preparing individual SMART Action Plans in the context of skills and employability. A/I D
- Experience of undertaking and utilising a range of assessment approaches and resources to identify an individual’s needs. A/I D
- Experience of providing information and advice relating to volunteering, education, training, employment, health and welfare. A/I D
- Experience of using a range of resources and packages to meet the differing requirements of programs. A/I E
- Experience of using Microsoft office packages or databases A/I E Level 2 (In addition) **.**:

- Substantial experience of working with the adults and young people who have experienced significant barriers and challenges with demonstrable experience of their successful progress into or towards employment, education or training
- Substantial experience of engaging adults and young people within their place of residence and/or within suitable local community setting who are experiencing significant barriers and challenges A/I E
- Experience of providing specialist information advice and guidance on a wide range of interventions relating to volunteering,education, training, employment health and welfare across our 3 phase model.
