Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

**Clinical Duties**
- Provide comprehensive care to patients within the specialties of General Medicine, Acute Medicine, Elderly Care, Respiratory Medicine, and Stroke Medicine.
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including history taking, physical examination, and ordering appropriate investigations.
- Develop and implement management plans for patients, ensuring timely and effective treatment.
- Participate in ward rounds, outpatient clinics, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Supervise junior medical staff, including Foundation Year doctors and Core Trainees, providing guidance and support.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient records, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Participate in the on-call rota, providing emergency care and managing acute admissions.

**Administrative Duties**:

- Maintain up-to-date patient records and ensure clear communication with other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in clinical audits, research, and quality improvement projects.
- Attend mandatory training sessions and engage in continuous professional development.
- Contribute to departmental meetings and case discussions.

**Education and Training**:

- Provide teaching and mentorship to junior doctors, medical students, and other healthcare professionals.
- Engage in personal and professional development activities to maintain clinical competencies and stay updated with medical advancements.

Necessary Requirements and Qualifications
- **Essential**:

- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a license to practice.
- Completed Core Medical Training (CMT) or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience working at the registrar level in relevant specialties.
- Excellent clinical skills and knowledge in General Medicine, Acute Medicine, Elderly Care, Respiratory Medicine, and Stroke Medicine.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and adherence to NHS values and standards.

**Desirable**:

- Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) or equivalent.
- Experience in teaching and mentoring junior medical staff.
- Participation in clinical research and audit projects.
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: £70.00-£85.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45 per week

- Every weekend
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday

- Overtime
- Weekend availability
