Seeking the hire of a Personal Assistant in Wolverhampton (or willing to travel) to support a disabled artist with complex care needs. Assistance is required with supporting her through work and social commitments in the arts sector as a self employed model and singer. Scope for the role includes assisting with gigs and photoshoots and other activities within the creative arts industry as well as assisting with pre and post work activities such as planning, packing and general health care.

**Summary of the Role**

The PA will be expected to provide emotional support and monitor/help to manage the artist's physical conditions. There will also be admin related activities including assisting with communication. Support is also required with shopping, domestic and associated tasks when needed. Additional support may be required if there is worsening in health conditions or intense workload from commitments.

The PA would be required to drive safely and legally to various locations for commitments (must be able to comfortably drive long distances). Work may occasionally include late nights and overnight stays (for example when assisting with a gig or supporting on a residency/festival). There will be discussions around general availability and schedule considering both parties personal circumstances however an openness to flexibility and fluidity of hours would be necessary due to the nature of the work.
- Good understanding of hidden disabilities, mental health conditions and experience in supporting people with complex needs/disabilities
- Registered as self employed (or willing to start immediately)
- Flexible with working days/hours (Unsociable hours and overnight stays may be required occasionally)
- UK Driving licence and access to a vehicle including relevant insurance
- Ability to demonstrate compassion and empathy at all times
- Be committed to equality and diversity and demonstrate this in everyday actions
- Engage in open and honest communication at all times without judgement
- Be self aware and communicate effectively any issues/concerns - including discussions around commitments or ability
- Be able to conduct their behaviour in a kind, caring and respectful manner at all times

- Ability to adapt quickly to changes in circumstances calmly and reliably
- Ability to challenge situations and/or advocate on the artist's behalf where a situation arises

The artist is ideally looking for a long term hire to offer consistency and continuity of care avoiding the need to rehire in the short term. This is a self employed freelance position - access to your own car and laptop will be required.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Freelance

**Salary**: £20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 14 - 25 per week
