**A bit about the team.**

***The?Fares Ticketing and Retail (FTR)?programme is fundamental towards creating a simpler and better railway experience for everyone in Britain. This is a once in a generation opportunity to significantly transform the customer experience by modernising ticketing, simplifying journeys, removing barriers, and ensuring people are charged fairly. We want to provide better travel information to help passengers whenever they need it throughout their journey and we’re working on improvements that give customers confidence when booking, making them feel valued for choosing rail.

**The job.**

***We're currently looking for a Strategy Assurance Manager to ensure an effective development and delivery of our Pay As You Go (PAYG) Assurance programme. Collaborating and engaging within the wider rail landscape, you’ll be tasked with defining our approach to market engagement, providing strategic input, and using your expert knowledge and influence to get buy-in from our key stakeholders and partners.

This is an exciting opportunity to support our PAYG Director and ensure that we have effective assurance in place when delivering the programme,

You’ll be key in meeting the needs of GBRTT’s Fares Ticketing Retail team, the wider industry and our Customers

**What you’ll bring..**
- Experience of successfully delivering as part of a large cross-functional team in a complex, matrix organisation.
- Strong understanding of strategy development and implementation, with proven ability of delivering strategic change programmes.
- Strong understanding of Rail Fares, Pricing and Products.
- Strong understanding of payment service technologies, Pay as You Go technologies associated implementation of such technologies as well as the challenges, issues and opportunities within PAYG fares, ticketing and retailing within the rail sector.
- Strong experience of driving customer-focused changes (both from an operational and cultural perspective), with a passion for improving customer experience.
- Highly adept and persuasive communicator with the ability to negotiate, influence at an executive level and broker relationships with national and regional stakeholders, with an ability to present and articulate complex matters in a simple and effective way to a range of stakeholders, and to gain TOC, RDG, DfT and HM Treasury buy-in and commitment.
- Strong commercial acumen, with proven ability to manage budget and deliver required outcomes of tens of millions of pounds.
- Ability to build and develop business cases in line with government guidance.
- Strong knowledge and experience of various programme and project and quality management approaches and principles

This role is available on a Fixed Term Contract and Secondment basis for **12+ Months.
