Balfour Beatty Vinci has an exciting opportunity for an **Geotechnical Coordinator** Lead to join our team based in Coleshill, Coventry

**What you’ll be doing**

As an **Geotechnical Coordinator** you’ll be working alongside our Design team helping to deliver the biggest civils infrastructure project in the UK.

**Some of the duties you will have include**:

- Demonstrate the BBV behaviours.
- Provide technical expertise to ensure realisation of opportunities and management of geotechnical risks for their respective sub-lot.
- Support technical Assurance checks and reviews of geotechnical work forming part of the permanent and temporary works design, with appropriate challenge for cost efficient solutions.
- Follow the required BBV assurance processes.
- Liaise with the sub-lot Design Management team and the Construction team to coordinate all earthworks/geotechnical tasks
- Possess moderate degree of technical competence and awareness of current sources of external, practical, cost-effective design and support the Sublot Design Manager in providing construction advice in the various specialist areas of ground engineering.
- Provide technical/coordination support in management of ground engineering aspects. Ensuring that key ground engineering factors affecting the project are identified and addressed in a technical, value-engineered, cost-effective and safe manner and appropriate risk management provisions implemented.
- Collaborate relentlessly.
- Ensure a relentless focus on Health, Safety and Welfare.
- Proven track record and experience at Engineer level in consultancy and/or a main contractor or specialist ground engineering contractor
- Awareness of geotechnical risk identification, quantification and mitigation
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- High standard of computer literacy
- Experience and confidence to constructively challenge to optimise design solutions which balance project requirements, risks and constraints
- BBV behaviours, respecting equality and diversity
- People management skills, effective delegation, mentoring, coaching and developing others
- Working knowledge of CDM 2015 Regulations
- Holding a valid CSCS card
- Holding a valid Driving Licence
