Children and Young People S Worker

Edinburgh, United Kingdom CrossReach Full time

Here at Sunflower Gardens, we work with children and young people from ages 5-18 who need our support because of substance use in their families.

From our dedicated base in the centre of Edinburgh, we work directly in schools and the community, to ensure that we are accessible to all who need us. We are a multi-disciplinary team, offering counselling, art therapy and therapeutic support both on an individual and group basis, working with individuals and families to make sure that they get the service that’s right for them.
This is a role where your background, skills, passion, and empathy can make a difference to children and young people who find themselves affected by circumstances beyond their control and who are looking for support and guidance to get themselves back on track and to create a brighter future.

This is not a counselling role, so if you have a background in social work, youth work, community education or something similar we would love to hear from you.

Due to the outreach nature of the role, you are required to have a full UK driving license and access to a car.

In return we offer a range of development opportunities, occupational pension scheme, enhanced holiday, and a cash health plan.

So, join us and you’ll be part of a professional environment that respects and values its employees as much as the people we support. It’s a career that will enhance your life and the lives of vulnerable people across Scotland.

As we do our work in Christ’s name you must be respectful of our Christian Ethos and be able to work within it.

We have a legal obligation to ensure that it does not employ any worker who has not been granted the relevant permission to work in the UK. This permission is without exception granted by UK Visas and Immigrations. We are required to check the entitlement to work in the UK of all prospective employees, regardless of nationality or job category
