An opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Dietitian to join the growing Paediatric Oncology and Haematology service at UCLH. The post is 0.5 WTE.

The successful applicant will be based at University College Hospital, part of UCLH NHS Foundation Trust.

You will work as part of a specialist children’s cancer multidisciplinary team, and form part of a group of specialist allied healthcare professionals including Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists. You will contribute towards all areas of the service including working in the Proton Beam service.

You will work closely alongside two Band 7 paediatric Oncology and Haematology Dietitians. Effective communication and negotiation skills and an ability to work effectively within teams are essential. We are a forward-thinking department and committed to professional development. You will be involved in student training initiatives.

We are a primary treatment centre for many children and young people diagnosed with cancers and blood disorders. The Oncology and Haematology service at UCLH consists of two inpatient wards, a teenage day-care unit, the UK’s largest paediatric and young adult centre for radiotherapy and our new Proton Beam Therapy (PBT) department which opened just over a year ago.

This service provides treatment for a wide range of child and teenage cancers and complex adult cancer and is part of the national NHS Proton Beam Therapy service along with The Christie in Manchester.
