School Nurse Assistant

Job Introduction
As a **School Nurse Assistant** within our School Nursing team, you will be based at St Martin's Hospital, where you will complete administration and will be expected to visit a number of schools within BANES to complete screening duties. This role offers excellent flexibility to also work from home.
This is a **26.5 hours per week **position where your working pattern can be negotiated to work around your lifestyle.
Main Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Providing clerical and administrative support
- Undertake as required (after being trained and assessed as competent); vision screening, hearing screening and measurements of height and weight
- Deliver health education sessions in primary schools as directed by the school nurse**.**:
- Interpret screening results, make referrals according to local protocols and input data accurately.

- Experience working in an administrative setting
- Some experience of working with children and young people
- An education up to GCSE level or equivalent
- Confidence using IT systems and working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel.
- Access to a car for work purposes, as this is a community role
