DevOps Squad Lead

Role Introduction Delivery and support of cloud platform for Advanced Products. This exciting role requires an innovative individual taking previous experience to identify opportunities to automate and improve existing and new cloud platform builds. There will be a strongfocus on Infrastructure as Code methodology.

What You Will Do Work with the business stakeholders to maintain and continually improve Advanced Products within the cloud platform:

- Prioritize and assign work according to the roadmap, capacity and agreed schedule
- Coordinate with the platform lead, software engineering, QA, project managers and other stakeholders
- Provide a technical escalation point and guidance for the team
- Commissioning and supporting IaaS & PaaS services
- Completion of system documentation and service take on

Provide 3rd line support on Azure IaaS/PaaS services and connectivity issues.This requires:

- Root cause investigation, reporting to senior management with a prevention plan
- Resolution of incidents in line with contractual timescales

Collaborate on creation and improvement of Infrastructure-as-Code deployments:

- Identify and implement innovation opportunities within existing infrastructure
- Automate deployments
- Contribute towards improving automation and scripting of tasks
- Perform proactive maintenance upon customer systems

The nature of the role requires mandatory participation in flexible working:

- On call 24x7 support rota, providing an escalation path to the Service Desk

Participate in continual improvement processes, modelled around meeting ISO standards:

- Drive adoption of modern DevOps working processes and practices
- Change control, with peer change review
- Quality driven; work planned with mínimal disruption to users
- Incident investigation
What You Will Have Essential skills to be considered for the role:

- Experience with Azure
- Ability to configure and fine tune cloud infrastructure systems
- Experience with running production systems, triaging and solving outages
- Experience with a modern monitoring system, Application Insights, Azure Monitor, etc
- Hands-on experience with one or more programming languages (e.g. Python, Go, Bash, PowerShell, JavaScript, Java, C#)
- Highly confident in Cloud Architecture
- Excellent troubleshooting skills, diagnose system and service faults and undertake problem analysis

Desirable skills on these products/topics:

- Management experience on production infrastructures
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code
