Meat Factory/Abattoir - Semi Skilled Operatives are required to work in various departments/areas throughout the factory. Department / work area may be changed throughout the shift or on daily/weekly basis and will be confirmed either by Department Managers or Staffline Representative. Job will involve working with raw meat / pig or cattle carcasses / by products / cooked products / live animals. Rate of pay will depend on the skill level.

The Position

Job Tasks may involve but not limited to: Work on pace line, Use of knives for trimming/ deboning pork or beef / working on slaughtering line. Using tools, equipment or machinery. Undertaking Manual Handling duties or with use of manual handling aids, working on the production line, sorting meat, cutting meat, packing product into bags/boxes/trays; placing product on the racks; stacking on the pallets; labelling product; weighting.

Shift Times may vary but will be mainly:
Dayshift Start 6:00/7:00am - until finish (usually 3-5pm)

Breaks: One or two 30 minute breaks depending on the length of your shift.

Training will be provided: General Health and Safety Training & Basic Food Hygiene will be delivered during induction. Job specific training will be delivered by Department Trainers based on tasks you will be required to undertake.

Additional PPE may be required and will be provided: Chainmail Gloves, Chainmail Aprons, Cut Proof Gloves and other.
