**Background**

SMT provides a variety of support services for children aged 3 to 16 years who have witnessed and/or directly experienced domestic abuse and violence. Children who access support are those who are unable to recover without therapeutic interventions and where their experiences have continual, adverse outcomes on their emotional wellbeing and development. In order to maximise outcomes for the children, specialist support and guidance is also provided for parents/carers who are themselves survivors of domestic abuse or who are now caring for child victims in order to better understand the effects of the abuse on the child and what therapeutic tools can be used to best support their recovery.

A minimum of 2 years experience of leading/managing teams in the domestic abuse field or similar is required.

**Purpose**

To manage the operational delivery of SMT Children & Young People services. This role will require the effective management of a multi-disciplinary staff team providing high-quality frontline support and therapy to Children & Young People and their parents/care givers.

**Responsibilities**

**Interagency Work**

1) Work to ensure that SMT CYP Services are integrated with multi-agency structures and responses to domestic abuse.

2) Develop and maintain effective links with other agencies, attending strategic and operational groups as required.

3) Develop and maintain a clear referral pathway with external partners and where directed by commissioners/funders.

**Delivery management**

1. Direct line management of the Bridgend CYP Team Lead incorporating:

- supervision
- case management
- case monitoring and project planning against contract outputs and outcomes

2. Direct line management of the Cwm Taf Team incorporating; Play Therapists and CYP Workers, including:

- supervision
- case management
- project delivery and planning against agreed contract outputs and outcomes

3. Receive and action referrals, directing and/or undertaking assessments as required.

4. Ensure all frontline staff receive clinical supervision that is appropriate for their needs and in line with project operational requirements.

5. Ensure all project documentation is completed on a timely basis and that risk management and safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.

6. Responsibility for the day-to-day management of Cwm Taf staff and Bridgend Team Lead; ensuring all staff consistently deliver against programme targets.

7. Ensure the project recognises the needs and concerns of a diverse range of project users and addresses them appropriately working to provide a project that is as accessible, relevant and effective as possible.

8. Respect and value the diversity of the community in which the project works in.

9. Ensure the involvement of project users and feedback is used in shaping the direction of the project.

**Recording and reporting**

1. Ensure required data is recorded as per reporting procedures, so that evaluation, performance management and project learning is maximised.

2. Ensure project user files and records are accurate and complete, and that both are kept in compliance with GDPR requirements.

3. Ensure data monitoring systems are kept up to date to enable effective reporting against agreed outputs and outcomes, observing submission deadlines.

4. Provide routine reports to funders and stakeholders so that they can assess the overall performance of the project.

5. Maintain an accurate and secure audit trail of all relevant communication.

6. Support staff in the effective use of designated electronic case management and monitoring systems.

**General Project Management**

Responsible for annual employee appraisals (direct line management), performance reviews, monthly supervision and staff professional development.

Remain up-to-date and compliant with all relevant legislation connected to your work, including the review and implementation of organisational procedures, policies and professional codes of conduct and practice guidance, in order to uphold standards of best practice.

Ensure the project complies with relevant legislative requirements such as charity law, company law, financial regulations, employment law, health and safety legislation, DPA, equal opportunities, Safeguarding Children and Adults and any other legislation connected to funding and project level agreements.

Act with integrity and respect when interacting with project users, employees, agencies and individuals.

Hold a full driving license, have access to a car and be able to travel as required.

Be flexible and partake in occasional evening and weekend work as required.

Responsible for supporting the Senior Management Team in identifying and securing resources and implementing the future funding plan.

Represent the project at local and regional groups as required.

Responsible for regular reviews of the project which reflect input, output and outcome monitoring, impact, funding streams and the views of
