As our 5-day Cook, you’ll be key to the success of our café services, providing a high-quality kitchen service. Working within the constraints of the budget, you’ll be responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the kitchen, delivering nutritionally balanced, varied and attractively presented café and meal options. We’re looking for a real team-player who creates a happy and productive kitchen environment. So, if you’re a motivated individual, with experience working in a kitchen environment and a recognised catering qualification, we’d love to hear from you.

**Responsibilities**:

- Prepare, heat and serve hot and cold food, including filled rolls.
- Prepare and cook soup daily.
- Order stock for kitchen daily, e.g. bread etc.
- Plan a menu a week in advance, over a three-week period as a minimum, and in conjunction with our 3-day Cook.
- Order any frozen meals accordingly.
- Ensure Health and Safety in the kitchen are to the highest standards.
- Maintain strict hygiene conditions in the kitchen.
- Clean kitchen and appliances daily.
- Manage volunteer kitchen staff.
- Wash and put away dishes, as required.
- Maintain accurate records of Stock, Freezer and fridge temperatures, and Food temperatures.
- Any other duties as instructed by the Hub Manager or Board of Trustees to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen, café and lunch club.

**Hours**: 9am - 3pm, Monday to Friday (30 hours weekly). Happy to discuss flexible options.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in a culinary or food preparation role is preferred
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food safety practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
