Overview:
Reporting to the HR Manager, the L&D Officer shall be responsible for ensuring training requirements and standards for each department are met and maintained across the site. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is interested in growing the L&D function in a fast paced and diverse site.

**Responsibilities**:

- Conduct skills gap analysis in line with business needs
- Monitor and implement learning and development needs
- Ensure the timely coordination and delivery of company inductions for all new starters
- Assist the HR Manager, in the production the overall Learning and Development plan for the site
- Deliver inhouse training sessions when required, including compliance refresher training
- Facilitate all practical training requirements and external course bookings
- Build and maintain effective links with training providers
- Maintain the Training Matrix
- Coordinate internal and external activity for all site learning programmes, including but not limited to, apprenticeship, graduate scheme, site leadership programmes
- Ensure systems are accurate and continuous improvement measures implemented
- Work on ad hoc projects as required at both site and group level

Qualifications:
**Essential**:

- 2+ years’ experience in the delivery of a blended L&D service offering learning outcomes with a tangible business impact
- Naturally creative and passionate about Learning and Development, with strong communication and interpersonal skills and an enthusiastic approach
- Strong influencing and negotiating skills and able to motivate and inspire diverse groups of staff
- Experience of managing conflicting deadlines and priorities to meet the requirements of a large, complex site

**Desirable**:

- Level 4 NVQ Diploma in L&D or equivalent work experience
- Experience working in a food production or manufacturing environment
