**Composite Kit Cutting Trainee**

At the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team, a group of passionate and determined people work to design, develop, manufacture and race the cars driven by seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton and rising star George Russell.
The Team has set a new benchmark for Formula One success during the sport’s current Hybrid era, winning consecutive Drivers’ and Constructors’ World Championships in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020, and the Constructors’ Championship in 2021.

**The role**:
As our Composite Kit Cutting Trainee your responsibilities will include:

- Working from the manufacturing schedule, cut kits for the laminating team using an automated cutting machine
- Ensure material out-life is logged and managed to optimise material usage
- Hand cutting will also be required on occasion
- The ability to read technical drawings/Layup manuals
- Digitising templates, kit building, and nesting as required
- Recording of relevant quantity and batch information in ERP system
- Transfer of material from freezer to kit cutting area
- Ensuring a high level of housekeeping in the area to enable supply of fault free kits
- Working in accordance with the department Health and Safety requirements
- During any kit cutting downtime, assist in other areas of the business supporting the production team.

As a trainee, you will gain a thorough understanding of the materials and manufacturing processes used to manufacture parts. They will learn to understand and interpret work instructions to manufacture complex, high value, and precision-engineered components to tight tolerances. You will work with a variety of high-grade materials including carbon fibre (woven fabrics, unidirectional), and film adhesives.

**What we are looking for**:
We are looking for a self-motivated, team player that is passionate about working for our team and has a willingness to learn. You should be capable of working to a high quality while under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Good communication skills are key in addition to being computer literate. The work is predominantly hands-on so we are looking for someone with excellent manual dexterity and a keen eye for detail. You should have a strong interest in composites or engineering and must be dependable and enthusiastic with a positive work ethic.

Qualifications Required:

- Minimum 5 GCSE’s at grade C or above (these must include English, Maths and Science)
