Classic Car Painter/prepper/sprayer

**We are recruiting Vacancy for: Classic Car Painter/Prepper/Sprayer**

Retroclassic Engineering specialise in the restoration and repair of a wide range of vintage, classic, retro and future classic cars, along with carrying out bespoke modifications and ‘restomod’ conversions.

**This role is based at our premises in Moreton Valance, Gloucestershire which is located just 5 minutes from the M5 Junction 12/13.**

**Your responsibilities will include;**
- Painting vehicles from minor repairs to full re-sprays on a wide variety of vehicles, using different paint systems as required and achieving a restoration standard finish
- Painting vehicle mechanical, underbody and miscellaneous components for our vehicle restoration department and ensuring all parts are finished to an exceptional restoration standard
- Masking, priming and small body repairs
- Quality control and Inspection of paintwork using an inspection lamp to ensure a perfect finish
- Estimating materials required and repair times as needed
- Working independently to meet strict project deadlines without supervision, managing your own projects efficiently and completion of detailed job records
- Ensuring parts/consumables are ordered in a pro-active and efficient manner to avoid project downtime

**Key Skills for this role include;**
- Experience in painting and mixing water based paint systems (required)
- Experience in carrying out high level vehicle restoration standard re-sprays along with smaller body high quality repairs/blending
- The ability to mix paint to achieve a perfect colour match using an in-house mixing scheme

Desirable skills for this role include;
- Preparation of vehicle bodywork after panel beater/coachbuilders metal finish, including carrying out all repairs, priming and blocking would be a distinct advantage
- Bodyshop management skills or experience would be a distinct advantage
- Have a keen eye for detail, take pride in the quality of their work, and have a strong interest in classic cars
- Have at least 10 years experience as a vehicle painter and a proven track record in the automotive industry, hold industry qualifications, be comfortable working to strict deadlines/target hours and able to follow detailed work instructions
- Have good communication and IT skills, a positive ‘can-do’ attitude, a strong work ethic, and be punctual/organised
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment
- Have a positive approach to learning new skills and working as part of a team
- Hold a Full UK Driving Licence

This role is a full-time position working Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm, overtime available

**Salary: £35,000 - £52,000 per annum, dependent on experience.**
