Job Details
Preparation of and advice on commercial contracts and associated legal documentation
Providing skilled business partnering to dedicated Business Unit(s) as an integral part of that Business Unit team, whilst supporting Business Unit(s) compliance and oversight
Assisting the Head of Legal with performance and completion of Legal tasks and responsibilities.
Key responsibilities

**What will this role involve?**:

- Support Business Unit(s) at an early stage of key contract negotiation, ensuring commercial goals are achieved in the most advantageous fashion.
- Prepare supply and distribution agreements, Confidentiality Agreements, other commercial agreements and associated legal documentation.
- Advise Commercial and Quality /Regulatory Affairs teams with regard to preparation of documentation and legal requirements.
- Assist with preparation and continuous improvement of Group template legal documentation.
- Assist Quality /Regulatory Affairs team with completion of Regulatory activities for customers.
- Prepare and deliver updates for Business Unit(s) on key legal topics, including in respect of contractual obligations, and support with the upskilling of such teams to allow for a potential 'self-serve' model in certain areas.
- Proactively continue professional development of law to maintain knowledge base and monitor legal developments, provide updates and notifications of relevant information to colleagues.
- Assist with overview of the Group Intellectual Property portfolio - liaising with R&D team and external Patent/Trademark Attorneys.
- Support with mergers and acquisitions activity, including with principal M&A documentation, due diligence and integration projects.
- Taking the lead from a legal perspective on certain group-wide projects where requested to do so by the Head of Legal.

**What we're looking for?**:

- 2-6 PQE lawyer, dependent on previous experience (particularly in-house commercial experience)
- Excellent knowledge of corporate/commercial law and some understanding of other relevant areas of law (e.g.employment)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Expectation that the Jobholder will further develop their knowledge in other legal areas, including Regulatory/Compliance and M&A, and will increasingly contribute to areas outside of their core role.
