Job Title: Level 2 Teaching Assistant (Numeracy and Literacy Interventions)

Department: KS2 (Year 4-6)

Purpose of Role:
To provide targeted and effective support to pupils in Key Stage 2 (KS2) who require additional assistance with numeracy and literacy. To work collaboratively with teachers to implement and monitor individual learning plans (ILPs) and ensure that pupils make progress towards their learning goals.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide individualised support to pupils with numeracy and literacy difficulties, working both one-to-one and in small groups.
- Implement and monitor ILPs, ensuring that interventions are tailored to the specific needs of each pupil.
- Work closely with teachers to plan and deliver numeracy and literacy lessons.
- Use a range of teaching and learning strategies to engage pupils and promote their progress.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of pupil progress.
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers to inform them of their child's progress and involve them in the learning process.
- Attend relevant training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Essential Skills and Experience:

- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role supporting pupils with numeracy and literacy difficulties.
- A sound understanding of numeracy and literacy curriculum requirements for KS2.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
- A flexible and adaptable approach to work.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

- Experience of using differentiated teaching strategies.
- Knowledge of specific learning difficulties, such as dyslexia or dyscalculia.
- Experience of using technology to support learning.

Qualifications:

- Level 2 qualification in Teaching or Learning Support.
- Enhanced DBS check.

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract

**Salary**: £80.00-£90.00 per day
