Trainee Designer/ Estimator

An exciting new position has been created for a Trainee Designer/Estimator to join our client who design an innovative product for clients across the UK and Europe.

This is an excellent opportunity based in their Broxburn office that would suit a recent graduate (in Industrial Design, Architecture or similar) or someone with design/estimating experience using AutoCAD, 3D Studio Max.

**Responsibilities will include**:

- Design unique and engaging playground layouts using AutoCAD and 3DS Max, adhering to safety standards and client specifications.
- Utilize Adobe Creative Suite to create visual representations of playground designs for client presentations and marketing materials.
- Using our inhouse estimating software to provide quotations for playground projects, including materials, labour, and transportation.
- Collaborate with sales teams to understand client needs and adjust designs as necessary to ensure designs are accurately translated into finished products.
- To attend meetings with clients and to make site visits where required.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, materials, and safety regulations to ensure designs are innovative and compliant.
- Provide excellent customer service, maintaining open communication with clients throughout the design and estimation process.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to tight deadlines and budget constraints.

**Essential qualification/skills**:

- Full driver’s licence
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in design and estimation would be advantageous
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, 3DS Max, and Adobe Creative Suite. With the ability to learn new software and skills quickly
- Good understanding of materials, construction methods, and safety standards
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to provide accurate cost estimates and manage budgets.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and cross-functional teams.
- Creative thinker with a keen eye for detail and design aesthetics.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
- Experience and understanding of the construction industry would be advantageous.

- 35 hour working week, Mon-Fri.
- 33 days annual holidays, including 8 public days.
