£32,000 - £36,000 plus benefits (Work Level 6B)

We’re looking for an experienced senior pensions officer to help us to deliver an outstanding service to members of one the UK’s largest pension schemes. With new projects on the horizon and a supportive team culture, you’ll be joining us at an exciting time.
In this role, we’ll look to you to provide a great service to all members of our Co-op pension schemes. You’ll process a wide range of benefits for our members, using your specialist knowledge to handle a variety of different queries. We’ll also look to you to provide support and guidance to our other pension officers. **What you’ll do**
- make sure all member benefits are calculated and paid accurately and processed in time, in compliance with scheme rules and pensions legislation
- provide an outstanding customer service to all pension scheme members
- proactively contribute to the team and share ideas for continuous improvement
- develop and maintain accurate records of all our members pensions information
- support the delivery of different project workstreams across our pension schemes relating to legislation, scheme design and business strategy
- provide support to the team leader in day-to-day team management including delegating tasks, running reports, and making sure work is completed to our SLAs
**This role would suit people who have**
- previous experience of defined benefit pensions, or defined contributions pensions
- an up to date understanding of relevant UK pension legislation
- confidence to delegate tasks to other team members and support the team leader with day-to-day management
- the ability to look holistically at the bigger picture and spot opportunities for improvement
- good mathematical skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt your approach to different audiences and situations
- good organisation skills, with the ability to manage own workload whilst supporting the team
