If then answer is yes, the Pharmacy Department is currently recruiting for a Specialist Services Pharmacy Assistant Technical Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to work across the Specialist Services Directorate and closely with the multi-disciplinary team. We are looking for a dedicated individual to provide maximum efficiency, safety and economic drug use through adherence to the Specialist Services model of care and Health Board policies.
Whilst NVQ Level 2 in pharmacy service and Medicines Management for pharmacy support staff qualifications are required for this post, we welcome applicants who wish to work towards these qualifications and full training will be provided. This will include competency-based training. During training the contract will be Annex 21: 75% of a Band 3 for up to 12 months until qualifications in both NVQ Level 2 and Medicines Management are achieved.
This post provides the post holder with the opportunity to develop knowledge, skills and experience in day-to-day delivery of pharmacy service to patients, in conjunction with the patient services and specialist services pharmacy teams.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring stock control to our Specialist Services areas at UHW, dispensing outpatient, inpatient and discharge medicines, and waste management.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
You should have good communication & interpersonal skills; be motivated, flexible, adaptable and able to work well in an environment of change and transition.
You will need to have a good standard of education and GCSEs at grade C or above in Maths and English.
