**About us**:
Oxfordshire Youth Justice and Exploitation Service has an exciting opportunity for a Youth Justice & Exploitation Worker to join our friendly and supportive team. Oxfordshire Youth Justice & Exploitation Service is a multi-agency partnership committed to preventing and reducing youth crime and exploitation in the County of Oxfordshire. We are passionate about improving outcomes for children, families and victims of crime and working according to the Child First principles.

As a Transitions worker within our service, you will support those children on Orders nearing their 18th birthday and ensure a smooth transition across to Probation and Adult Services. You will also work with the older teenagers on their Orders.

You will have a sound understanding of child development, criminogenic risk and need, and youth justice statutory requirements around public protection. You will be an experienced practitioner with the ability to pick up a case-load and work effectively in a range of professional environments, including Court. You will care about the lives of some of Oxfordshire's most vulnerable children and adolescents and be committed, tenacious and persistent in striving for positive outcomes and ensuring their rights are upheld.

Our YJES workers participate in rotas for Court and Bail and you will be required to work occasional evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays to meet the needs of the service and our children and families. The service is county-wide and the role requires travel across Oxfordshire to see our children and families in their homes, local communities, school and community venues.

**About the role**:
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Youth Justice and Exploitation Service for an experienced Probation Officer or Youth Justice Worker to join the team to work with those older adolescents who are transitioning across to Probation.

**About you**:
You will have a passion for working with this cohort of young people and be confident in working with partners to manage risk.

You will be skilled at engaging young people and their families, and have experience of both the Youth Justice and Probation Services and be confident in using their recording systems and understand both legislative framework.

You will support young people are they transition to probation, but also work with children and young people who receive Youth Justice Orders. You will take part in the Court and Bail duty rota and as a service we cover the whole of Oxfordshire so you would need access to a vehicle.
