**Key responsibilities**

Supporting the Channel Planning Lead to maximise clearance sales, margin and write off.

**Required skills & experience**

**Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities**:

- Lead the Commercial clearance strategy for the business to deliver against “clear as you go” principles seeking to identify opportunities to improve the collective ways of working.
- Work with the Smart Discounting Tools to support the business biannual clearance & stock health agenda.
- Become the business super user responsible for driving the optimisation of the SDT markdown functionality, development, and maintenance of templates to utilise and analyse tool outputs.
- Coordinate Clean Stocks and 1 Hour Range Change in collaboration with Category, Supply Chain and Finance teams.
- Managing the biannual clearance and stock health activity CPAs to ensure milestone/time dependencies are mapped out with clear governance and accountabilities.
- Work with Category & Central Supply Chain teams to support a robust stock and logistics plan that is customer focused and supports opportunities to optimise clearance sales, margin and write off.
- Support the campaign exit and trapped stock process to identify opportunities for improvements and efficiencies.
- Conduct regular store and competitor visits to increase awareness and support the category teams in delivering a customer focussed trading plan.

**Key Business Relationships**:

- Work in partnership with Category teams to deliver business wide and cross category objectives
- Work with Finance to review sales and margin opportunities in conjunction with the RTM cost modelling tool
- Work with Customer, Digital, Supply & Logistics to develop and improve the customer proposition and to deliver new initiatives
- Work in partnership with the Category teams to deliver the requirements for range & channel change activity
- Work with Project Managers to ensure BAU and ad-hoc projects are delivered on time
- Work in partnership with the Retail team to deliver sales and margin targets engaging them in key business priorities and seasonal trading

**SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**
- Experience in developing and implementing category strategies that have delivered sales performance and grown market share.
- Experience of operating within a matrix structure to achieve results
- Experience in delivering cross functional clearance strategies to deliver against “clear as you go” principles
- Experience of working for a retailer with an online and store presence, optimising routes to market
- Commercially focussed with the ability to understand financial insights and translate this into key business deliverables.
- Knowledge and understanding of the home improvement market and product seasonality.
- Ability to drive business performance using insights and knowledge to provide appropriate recommendations
- Experience in one or more Commercial area & ability to build and manage complex range architecture & customer expectations.
