**Salary**: NMW depending on Wage Banding

**Duration of post**:Fixed term contract - 18 months initially, with continuation based on sustained income.

**Hours**: Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8am - 4pm, up to 37.5 hours per week. There will also be an occasional obligation to work evenings and weekends for events/functions, but times will be varying so flexibility will be required. (As much advance notice will be given to ensure flexibility).

**Role**: Working alongside the Chef you will play a vital role by providing enhanced provision to all catering functions within Bridges Centre, which includes ‘The Pantry’ and planned events and catering functions. The Catering Assistant will support with all working areas in the kitchen, to include delivery & storage areas, dish wash area, food preparation, cooking stations and the service area. You will need to work in a hygienic and efficient manner, ensuring that the required Health & Safety measures are adhered to at all times, full training will be provided.

**Duties**:

- Assist with food preparation and cooking under the guidance of the kitchen staff
- Help maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen area
- Follow food safety guidelines and ensure proper handling and storage of ingredients
- Assist with meal preparation for catering events or cafe service
- Support the kitchen team with various tasks as needed

**Experience**:

- Experience in a kitchen or culinary setting is necessary, but we also value a willingness to learn.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment, training will be provided.
- Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions from senior staff members
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn and grow in the culinary field

**Skills**:

- Knowledge of food safety practices and procedures
- Familiarity with basic food preparation techniques
- Interested in and willingness to learn new cooking skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with the kitchen team
