As our **Success Mentor**,** **you** **will drive, coordinate and support learners within the Maths and English Success Centre and work closely with the Maths & English and vocational teams to provide consistent and regular opportunities for our learners to improve their skills.

The post holder will plan and deliver a timetable of innovative activities to support and stretch and challenge learners studying English & Maths GCSE and Functional Skills to improve their confidence and competence (engage and achieve well).

The post holder will also positively drive the Success Centre strategy to break down barriers, drive progress and secure achievement and high grades for all learners.

**Responsibilities of our** **Success Mentor**:

- Work closely with the maths & English quality link and Lead Specialist's to continually implement, monitor, assess and further develop the College’s strategy for the Success Centre and improved achievement in English, ensuring that there are robust processes in place for its effective implementation with study programmes and across the College.
- Drive and promote the Success Centre timetable and individual activities to ensure learners are supported to achieve and exceed their targets.
- Use the Century Tech platform to deliver high quality, bespoke and consistent learning support sessions within the Success Centre, ensuring stretch, challenge and engagement of learners of all ages and abilities.
- Implement and coordinate the attendance, behaviour and achievement strategies for study programmes for learners studying English and Maths.
- Actively promote the Success Centre and celebrate achievements across College to encourage and maximise attendance and engagement for all learners.
- Conduct robust English & Maths inductions for all learners who may start late, ensuring comprehensive initial and diagnostic assessments establish learner starting points. Ensure a smooth supported transition to classes is in place.
- Implement and maintain effective learner tracking to assess, record, monitor and regularly report on learners’ progress in achieving set, agreed (understood) and challenging targets.
- Actively communicate and engage with English & Maths and vocational teachers to support the learner journey including effective use of ProMonitor and other platforms as applicable.
- Achieve set, agreed targets and key performance indicators within the Success Centre remit.

**What we’re looking for in our** **Success Mentor**:

- Qualified to degree level or equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum of a level 3 qualification in English and maths
- Previous experience of successfully supporting learning in an educational environment.
- Up to date knowledge of Awarding body requirements and expectations for Maths & English GCSE and FS qualifications.
- Experience of working within secondary/Further Education
- Ability to work across the age and ability range in classroom, workshop and one to one situations
- Ability to use IT at a level commensurate with job role
