We are looking for a motivated and innovative clinical psychologist to join our primary care mental health team which is called Renew. The service is led by psychologists and managed by an 8b Clinical Psychologist. You would be working alongside 2 Clinical Psychologists, 10 CAAPs, 3 Mental Health Workers and 5 Assistant Psychologists to provide assessments and treatment to primary care patients with mental health needs.

The clinical psychologist will play a key role in providing consultation to GPs and the CMHTs. Other responsibilities will include supervision of staff and providing assessments and treatment. There are opportunities for service development and evaluation, setting up quality improvement projects and developing and implementing new group treatments in this service.

NHS Borders Psychology Services is a dynamic and supportive service that aims to offer delivery, training and supervision in psychological therapies to the NHS Borders, a rural population of 115 000 people. Within adult mental health psychology most of our psychologists choose to work from home to complete their clinical and administrative work, although office based working is available if preferred.

We are in easy reach of Edinburgh - with the majority of our staff based in the capital. The Tweedbank rail service from Edinburgh has made travel to Tweedbank (45 minutes from Edinburgh and a 20 minute walk to the Borders General Hospital) an attractive commute.

The Scottish Borders is a lovely area to live in, with excellent schools, abundant local amenities and easy access to Edinburgh and transport links. There are superb leisure facilities and good quality affordable housing which provide ideal opportunities for a high quality of life in this scenic part of the country.
