Job Title: Waste Permitting Specialist

Location: Regional (East/West Sussex, Kent, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight) and Hybrid 50/50 split

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full-time, 37 hours, Monday - Friday

**Salary**: Up to £45,000 (prorated depending on contract length)

We are seeking a Waste Permitting Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that our business maintains all necessary waste and installation environmental permits, in order to facilitate the timely delivery of capital schemes while safeguarding the company's regulatory position.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage and maintain all necessary waste and installation environmental permits.
- Ensure permits are negotiated and obtained in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Act as the primary interface with the Environment Agency and other regulatory bodies.
- Evaluate permit requirements to align with and support the company's business objectives.
- Prepare and submit regulatory reports in compliance with environmental regulations.

Qualifications and Skills:

- At least 5 years of experience in the wastewater, waste or a related industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in waste permitting coordination or a similar regulatory compliance role.
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations and permitting processes.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple permits and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
