**Salary**: £25,037 (£12.98 an hour) with the opportunity to progress to a maximum of £28,455 (£14.75 an hour)*

- **Salary inclusive of enhancement for working 20% of time at the weekend. Sleep In allowances are paid at £40 per night. Waking Night Support Workers receive time and a third. There are opportunities to work additional hours and overtime across the Service.**

**Who we are**:
**Our short breaks service supports adults with various disabilities. Some have learning or physical disabilities and need high levels of physical care, others can meet their own day to day needs but may have, mental ill-health or just a need for support to get through their everyday lives.
At St Michael’s House, people reply on you to support them to enjoy their time away from home while their carers have a well-deserved break.
**What you’ll do**:
As a Senior Support Worker, you will
- lead shifts - overseeing and supervising the team, and dealing with day-to-day challenges
- Take on an additional area of responsibility such as coordination of training or health and safety.
- Support people with personal hygiene, eating and drinking
- managing their money,
- taking their medication and attending health appointments
- participating in social and leisure activities both at home and in the local community.
**What you need**:
You need to have some experience as a Support Worker for this role and to hold an RQF Level 2 award or equivalent - we will support you with all additional the training you need.
In our service, you will need to be able to support people with personal care, which can involve using moving and handling equipment and you would need to be physically able to manage this type of work.
Our roles involve shift work, including weekends and bank holidays and you will be required to sleep in approximately four times a month, for which you’ll receive an additional payment.
You just need the right values and a willingness to learn.
