Group Communications & Infrastructure

Looking to be part of non-stop innovation? Join our Group Communications and Infrastructure team and you’ll work alongside experts in broadband, telephony, mobile, cloud and infrastructure. We’re the team that designs, builds, supports and maintains the telecoms networks across the whole Sky Group. Together, we help Sky broadband, mobile and TV enter new markets by creating a single and secure infrastructure for the amazing content and services that keep our customers coming back for more.

What you’ll do
- Support the Tech M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) team with external supplier expenditure requirements for essential planned and reactive maintenance activities that underpin the infrastructure to Sky’s customers’ experience.
- Reporting to the Asset and Capacity Manager, process all approved expenditure requests from the Tech M&E team. Tasks include:

- Raising Purchase Requests (PRs) on Ariba.
- Monitoring the PR through approvals to creation of a Purchase Order (PO).
- Ensure timely receipting of POs to ensure suppliers are paid on time.
- Request annual maintenance renewals from suppliers as and when due for renewal.
- Maintain the department’s spend tracker document to maintain visibility and status of all supplier expenditure for the team.
- Liaise with Accounts Payable, Vendor Maintenance, Procurement, and Legal teams as necessary to facilitate all the above.

What you’ll bring
- Excellent numeracy skills, and a general understanding of budget management.
- Experience and knowledge of using purchasing systems such as Ariba SAP.
- Experienced and confident in the use of Microsoft tools, particularly Excel.
- Demonstrable communication skills, conversing at all levels with external suppliers and internal staff alike.
- Good analytical skills, with an eye for detail, enabling financial queries and issues to be promptly identified and resolved.
- A pro-active can-do approach to resolving delays with supplier expenditure issues, taking the lead with identifying the appropriate support and assistance required.
- A basic understanding of Mechanical and Electrical system terminology would be useful but not essential.

Our Osterley Campus is a 10-minute walk from Syon Lane train station. Or you can hop on one of our free shuttle buses that run to and from Osterley, Gunnersbury, Ealing Broadway and South Ealing tube stations. There are also plenty of bike shelters and showers.
