**Garden Administrator, Horatio’s Garden Stoke Mandeville**

We are seeking a friendly, organised, part time administrator, to provide support to the Head Gardener at the UK’s largest spinal injury centre. This high-profile garden opened in 2018 and trail blazes the benefits of gardens and health.

The garden is easily accessible from the spinal injury centre through automatic doors so that patients in hospital beds and wheelchairs can use the garden with their friends and family or as a place of sanctuary. The garden makes a huge difference to the wellbeing of people facing life changing injuries and long stays in hospital.

The role includes general administration duties and co-ordination of a large group of volunteers and is a part-time salaried post for 15 hours a week over three days, one to cover the Head Gardener's day off and the others to cross over.  This job would suit someone who is efficient and organised, adaptable, friendly and loves spreadsheets, working with volunteers, as well as gardens You will join a team of other garden administrators across the growing charity’s five projects.

**Working closely with the head gardener you will be involved in**:

- Volunteer coordination, training and recruitment
- Support the Head Gardener with administrative duties
- Events support
- Garden tour organisation
- Purchasing necessary supplies for the garden
- Banking donations
- Posters and marketing around the garden
- Managing merchandise

**Essential skills**:

- Outstanding attention to detail, lots of initiative and drive
- Excellent IT competence, agility and experience with using Microsoft 365 programmes
- Administrative experience, at least 2 years
- Great communication skills
- Adaptable, friendly and a good sense of humour

**Desirable**:

- Volunteer coordination
- Events organising
- Love of Gardens

The role is a fantastic opportunity for someone with all round administrative skills and an interest in gardens, wellbeing and a passion for people. The post is available immediately. The role is flexible hours averaging 15 hours a week and with a part-time salary of **£9,720 per annuM/Full time equivalent of £24,300 per annum.**
