**Brokerage Assistant (Children's) - 6 Month FTC**

Are you looking for a great opportunity to develop new skills and knowledge in the Children’s Brokerage Team and are interested in working towards the Councils’ goal of providing excellent services across Children’s Social Care? If so, we have a 6 month secondment opportunity for the following post:
**Brokerage Assistant (Children’s)**

As a Brokerage Assistant based in Children and Families, you will be responsible for supporting the Brokerage Officers with the safe and appropriate placement of children and young people across all service areas within Children’s Social Care. The role is varied, you will be responsible for operational duty, supporting Brokerage Officers, other Brokerage Assistants and inputting data and updating systems. There will be a key focus on budgets and reviewing costs of placements to ensure that value for money is being achieved. This role will provide you with an excellent opportunity to develop and practice a range of skills to carry out this vital function within the team.

This role involves close working with a wide range of Care Providers such as Residentials, Fostering and Semi-independent providers. You will also work closely with internal professionals across the service, so exceptional communication skills are essential.

You will ensure information is entered and sent to the provider correctly in relation to individual placements and the cost of these services, and ensure information is accurately entered on the systems. An awareness of the Children’s Social Care System (Protocol/Liquid Logic) and internal processes would be beneficial.

You will be comfortable working under pressure and working flexibly to support the wider duties of Brokerage. This will involve working after 5pm on occasions to assist with emergency placement requests.
