Progress Teachers are working closely with a dynamic Pupil Referral Unit in Burntwood. Our client is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students and contribute to their educational journey.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Supporting Classroom Activities**: Assist the teaching staff in delivering engaging lessons and activities, catering to the diverse needs of students within the unit.
- **Individualised Support**: Provide one-on-one support to students who may require additional assistance, ensuring their unique learning requirements are met.
- **Behavioural Support**: Contribute to maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment by effectively managing student behaviour and fostering a supportive atmosphere.
- **Collaborative Planning**: Work closely with teachers to plan and implement effective teaching strategies, adapting to the varied learning styles and abilities of students.
- **Resource Management**: Assist in the preparation and organization of teaching materials, ensuring that resources are accessible and conducive to a productive learning environment.
- **Monitoring Progress**: Regularly assess and report on student progress, collaborating with teachers to identify areas for improvement and implementing appropriate interventions.
- **Communication**: Maintain open and effective communication with teachers, parents, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
- **Promoting Inclusion**: Support the integration of students with diverse needs into mainstream education settings, fostering a sense of belonging and promoting inclusivity.
**Qualifications and Skills**:
- **Relevant Qualifications**: Possess a minimum of a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent, demonstrating a solid understanding of educational principles.
- **Experience**: Previous experience working in a similar role, particularly within a Pupil Referral Unit or alternative education setting, is highly desirable.
- **Interpersonal Skills**: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, colleagues, and parents.
- **Adaptability**: Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate the diverse needs and abilities of students.
- **Team Player**: Work collaboratively with the teaching team and other professionals to create a supportive and cohesive learning environment.
- **Resilience**: Demonstrate resilience and patience in managing challenging behaviours and situations.
**Salary**: £90.00-£95.00 per day
